Jurassic world velocicoaster reviews
After over two years of watching this attraction evolve from a freshly constructed hatchling to a towering, breathtaking beast, the evening has finally come for the OI team to take on one of the most highly anticipated rides Universal Orlando has ever cooked up – Jurassic World VelociCoaster.
Our expectations were tall – as in, 155-foot top-hat high – and, somehow, they were still exceeded by the ferociously fast launches and unreal amounts of airtime we experienced. It’s safe to say we felt the rush of the hunt… and then some! But, before we flesh out all of the most thrilling details of our wild ride, let’s launch with an element of the attraction that we were greatly impressed by first: the queue.
Soon after stepping through the torch-bearing arches of the ride’s entrance, it became obvious that Universal spared no expense when it came to theming. Grandiose, sweeping music straight from the Jurassic World soundtrack greeted us upon our approach and was soon punctuated by the jarring sounds of velociraptors as we made our way down the opening hallway and into the first room.
This initial indoor space was alight with flashing neon strips that crowned the ceiling and puls
Why I Ranked VelociCoaster #3 and Why You Should Too

SeaWorld Orlando - Night 1
After arriving in the afternoon, I boogied over to SeaWorld to meetup with folks for copious amounts of credit sprint amidst an otherwise quiet night in the park. I realized upon stepping into the park that this was the first SeaWorld I have visited since SeaWorld Ohio, almost 25 years ago!
General Vibes
You know you're in a Busch-owned park when the vegetation is on-point and almost everywhere. SeaWorld is no exception, with beautifully decorated pathways and layout. I will say however, I was perpetually lost in the park as we were making our way through. This makes sense to a certain extent - the park is a wildlife park (technically) first after all, with rides interspersed between.

I'm writing this review of the Jurassic World VelociCoaster literally just hours after having experienced it for myself. I needed to drive home and gather my thoughts first before committing them to virtual ink. For the TL;DR crowd, here is the three-word review:
Best. Ride. Ever.
That's no joke. The VelociCoaster, tongue-twister that it is, is a stunning roller coaster ride that is the single best thing Universal's theme parks have ever insert out. And that's coming from a devout Incredible Hulk coaster stan, which until now has always been the standard-bearer for thrills at Islands of Adventure. It goes beyond just an exhilarating ride across 4,700 feet of track and 12 seconds of airtime (more on that later); it's a completely immersive experience from the moment you enter the queue.
The storyline of the ride is set just before the events of Jurassic World. The conceit is that riders are not in Islands of Adventure but in Jurassic World to experience a recent ride that allows guests to race alongside a pack of raptors.
Two raptor statues bracket the top of the entrance to the ride, which is around the front of the Jurassic Park Discovery Center. The style team that put together
Jurassic World Velocicoaster, Review & Element-by-Element Analysis of the New Islands of Adventure Roller Coaster.
Velocicoaster sets a new standard for what coasters are meant to be. One-of-a-kind elements; a pure-fun first-half building up to an insane second half; and sections of track that genuinely seem prefer they wouldn’t have existed a few years ago until you actually see them and trust it. The Velocicoaster currently has the highest score out of any roller coaster I’ve ridden, and while opinions may vary and this coaster of course holds a special place in my heart, this is truly a ride that attempts to check every box and tries to be the best coaster ever. Highly themed, good intensity, great thrill, and wow factor from start to finish.
Final Score:
Technical: 9.5
Excitement: 9.0
Pacing: 7.9
Theming: 9.2
Uniqueness: 9.6
Jurassic World Velocicoaster is a TOP 1% coaster on my personal list with these scores. It sits in my personal superior 5 coaster rides ever, and is one that is truly worth making the trip to Universal for.
Element-by-Element:
First Launch
The sit on begins with a 0-50mph launch in 3.0 seconds. The take-off itself feels less kicky in my opinion
REVIEW: Jurassic World VelociCoaster is the best coaster in Orlando
In 2018, Universal Orlando’s new addition was Fast & Furious: Supercharged — yet another screen-based attraction at a resort already too dependent on simulators, and quickly maligned as the worst of the bunch.
Eight years removed from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s revitalization of Universal theme parks, fans wondered whether the ride designers at Universal Creative recognized its screen-heavy dilemma, and what, if anything, it may do to address the issue.
The apparent solution was themed roller coasters.
I called Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure the best ride at Universal Orlando when it opened in 2019, as it eschewed screen-based effects (outside the pre-show) for an immersive physical environment combined with jaw-dropping coaster tech. Considerable technical headaches aside, the ride set a much higher standard for themed coasters, while still appealing to families.
Two years later, Jurassic World VelociCoaster shows that themed coasters can not only deliver on thrills, but be thrilling enough to wow even the most cynical and demanding coaster enthusiast.
