Laptop vs. desktop for WoW

Wow you actually took the time to make sure the job was done didn’t you, even though I have admitted defeat, chapeau! I love how you assume that I recognize literally nothing about anything at all, which plays in nicely to my claim of you feeling entitled.

My render scale is set to 100%, thanks. Quazzii mentioned to play around with it, I did, and noticed that it didn’t affect my FPS.

There is a notebook that can outperform all of the aforementioned CPU’s, it’s made by Apple.

It’s well known that WoW favors single core performance, since that’s what we used in 2005. Also my wife’s 970m would indeed suggest that GPU’s are not very important for wow, as it works fine.

It seems like you haven’t mentioned the overheating issues, presumably because you can’t prove it? I doubt you’ll come to the desert with me to confirm my claims?

I’m not recording anything, because simply put, I don’t know how, or care for it. I’ll stream it for you, so you can narrate me in person that, perhaps, you went into this with a bit to much aggression. I don’t look to earn any gratification or validation from anyone, but you, personally. Don’t forget that logging, addons, weakaur

I need help with World of Warcraft and possibly DCUO

I play World of Warcraft and want to return to DCUO. I have a Surface Laptop that does not have a dedicated graphics card. It has Intel graphics but the graphics are not able to handle the mechanics of Shadowland dungeon or raid runs. For example, when I enter Spires of Ascension the whirlwinds I can't avoid them and my character simply bounces around. In the Castle Nathria Raid my laptop freezes, slows down, etc.

When I attempt to play DCUO I can't see my spell casting bar and the width of the screen is significantly reduced. Admittedly when I sent DCUO my MSInfo and DxDiag files they told me it would be extremely difficult to play the game on my laptop.

Any suggestions on improving play in WOW will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Gaming laptop for WoW Classic

Hey guys! Hope you all are doing well in these trying times!
As the title says, I need some suggestions in what gaming laptop i should pick! (I know as much as Jon Snow when it comes to laptops lol).

Here’s the deal:

I will pretty much only run WoW Classic on the laptop as i operate a Macbook pro for perform etc. So i’ve found two options that seem to include pretty good reviews and fit my price range atm.

One of them is: Lenovo IdeaPad L340 17,3" FHD (256GB SSD / GTX1050) Can also upgrade to 512GB SSD / GTX1650.

OR

HP OMEN Gaming Laptop 15-dc1000no- 15.6" (128 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD).

I lean towards the Lenovo one because it’s quite cheaper, has a bigger screen (me likey) and has a quieter fan (which also is a big bonus).

But as I said, I don’t know jack-s about laptops. And I would treasure your input!

PS. I’m open to other suggestions if there are far better options, but unless the difference isn’t big please help me decide on the ones i’ve suggested.

Thank you in advance!

WoW Gaming Laptop Advice

Flintlox-moon-guard1

I’m not exactly a one-game Andy, but I mostly play WoW, with a little FFXIV, Magic Arena, indies, etc nothing too crazy intense. A couple years ago I bought a inexpensive Asus gaming laptop and that turned out to be a mistake lol. WoW runs poorly on it, and it sounds like a chainsaw, on foremost of other niggling issues.

Anyone qualified to recommend a decent gaming laptop that plays WoW buttery smooth and is whisper quiet? My Mac actually fits this bill, but I can’t branch out into other PC games on my Mac.

EDIT: I don’t travel, but a desktop doesnt work for me. A desktop means I have to sequester myself from my family when I play games, so I like being able to whip out a laptop while on the couch while my wife and kid watch a film or something.

Current PC: Asus TUF 8GB ram, AMD Ryzen 5, GeForce GTX 1650

Unless you tour around a lot I’d just recommend getting a good desktop. But if you are always mobile, I got my son a nice Alienware laptop that played pretty much whatever he threw at it. I understand they’re a bit more overpriced for the brand, but it worked good for what he played.
