Christmas around the world webquest

Christmas Webquest | Reading Comprehension Activities & Writing Craft

Looking for a no prep Christmas reading comprehension activity for your class? Shift this reading comprehension webquest into a writing craft and bulletin board for the ultimate Christmas lesson. (Recommended for 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade.)

What is a Christmas Reading Comprehension Webquest

Students will go on a webquest (visit a kid-friendly, informational website) to learn about Christmas.

Students will then use different reading comprehension graphic organizers to answer questions about Christmas.

Students will fill out a KWL (know, what to know, what I learned) chart, answer 5 W (who, what, where, when, why) questions about the text, write about the main idea and key details, practice using new vocabulary, and then write a summary about what they have learned.

Reading Comprehension – Summary Writing – Bulletin Board

Conclude the project by allowing students to write a summary about what they possess learned about Christmas using the key vocabulary you worked on.

Writing about what they are reading is an excellent way for students to show their reading comprehension.

My students and I loved this zero prep task. I did this with them the week before we got off for our Christmas vacation.

Somehow, there's less than a month left until Christmas. I'm not sure how it happened so quickly, but I know that that month is going to go by in about 17 hours, so it's time to get some planning done now to make sure we have some educational fun along the way! After seeing some fun pins pop up on my Pinterest board, I think we're going to try some Christmas Around the World activities. I think there are a lot of good opportunities for learning with a unit like this, and it should (hopefully) be fairly simple to do with both my kids, even though they're five years apart. I'm also looking forward to this because I have a lot of fun memories of my mom and her fellow second grade teachers doing a similar project each year when I was young. Hmm, maybe this would be a good time to bring in Grandma as a substitute teacher!

After doing some research (also known as scouring Pinterest and reading lots of Amazon reviews), I found that there are a lot of products out there for sale, and there's certainly nothing wrong with purchasing something ready-made, especially when time is running out. Most of us, though, are single-in

It’s that time of year, when so many of us around the world have love, gifts and wonderful food in consciousness along with special celebrations of the beautiful Christmas Story.

Give your learners this opportunity to identify out the answers to the many questions about Christmas around the world. Use the instructor answer sheet to share ideas.

A good way to fuel a class discussion about what is important to them at Christmas and why.

Please be kind and do not share this resource with colleagues anywhere, unless you have purchased the school licence.
