Daughter of No Worlds Quotes

“I figured you should have something both beautiful and functional, love you."
He said it so posthaste that it almost didn't register. I whipped my head around to look at him. "Max," I breathed, touching my heart with exaggerated awe, "you contemplate I'm functional?"
A dancing smile glinted in his eyes. "I think," he said, "that you are breathtakingly functional.”

“I wanted him in so many ways. As a partner, as a kindred soul, as a fierce teammate. As skin and lips and teeth. As a hitched breathless moan in the darkness or a lethargic embrace in the sunrise. I wanted that. I wanted it all.”

And I am not done yet.

Daughter of No Worlds Book Review

I was really craving some romantasy and Daughter of No Worlds kept popping up on my social media. So, what’s a girl to do? I read it, of course.

Foolish, perhaps, considering my track record with fantasy romance, and especially this author. I didn’t hate Serpent and The Wings of Night, but it was so dull and boring that I DNF’d it close to the end. It’s certainly better written than most romantasy nowadays, but the plot and the world were completely uninspired.

I looooove that this question is going around! Let me tell you, I have a clear and unwavering answer to this and it has remained unchanged since the moment I first laid eyes on the ink pressed into the paper describing this man.

Maxantarius Farlione.

I have to admit, I'm not sure why Daughter of No Worlds is not more popular. I mostly see Serpent and the Wings of Night being the most commonly discussed Carissa Broadbent novel when it comes to the online space. But The War of Lost Hearts trilogy is one of the most sweeping, breath-taking, and beautifully written fantasy romances I have ever study.

Let me introduce you to Max:

I understand Max so deeply. He is no doubt a Virgo who just wants to stay in peace in an isolated cottage and be left alone with his garden. But he also has a heart so full of love and loyalty, and is one of the most trustworthy, passionate (even if in his own cynical and reserved way) reliable, and verdant flag filled MMC's I own ever read.

This book completely altered my brain chemistry and made me love tropes I was usually neutral to or annoyed by because they

Her life for freedom. Her blood for devotion. Her soul for vengeance.

Ripped from a forgotten homeland as a child, Tisaanah learned how to survive with nothing but a sharp wit and a feel of magic. But the overnight she tries to buy her freedom, she barely escapes with her life.

Desperate to save the best friend she left behind, Tisaanah journeys to the Orders, the most powerful organizations of magic Wielders in the society. To join their ranks, she must complete an apprenticeship with Maxantarius Farlione, a handsome and reclusive fire wielder who despises the Orders. The Orders’ intentions are cryptic, and Tisaanah must prove herself under the threat of looming war. But even more dangerous are her growing feelings for Maxantarius. The bloody past he wants to ignore may be the key to her future… or the downfall of them both.

Tisaanah will cease at nothing to save those she abandoned. Even if it means gambling in the Orders’ deadly games. Even if it means sacrificing her heart.
