Disgusting food.
We went in today Aug 22nd. Went into cafe, we’ve never seen it so quiet, I ordered leek and potato soup.
It arrived and I only had 1 spoonful it was”off” it tasted disgusting and the bread they served with it was stale, rock hard I couldn’t eat it.i think they dependency to get their act together as being local word of mouth goes a long way.
The whole place is looking shabby. We won’t be going again.

Visited the cafe today and was astonished at the bad customer service. An elderly lady in front of me had ordered a carvery lunch and asked if they would carry her plate to the table as she had a walking stick, she was told no that she had to carry it herself she said she would strife but the girl taking the order said no, the lady then asked for an orange just and then was told that she had to receive it herself from the fridge so she said she would have water. I was then sat with my sister in the cafe who is disabled and she need to proceed to the toilet, unfortunately the toilet was down stairs and at the furthest point of the building which caused m

The Four Seasons Terrace Café at Hayes Garden Planet is the perfect place to relax and revive on any trip to this, the largest garden centre in the Lakes. Open seven days a week, the cafe provides the complete range of refreshment choices throughout the day, from speciality coffees, full English breakfasts, all-day snacks, tasty lunches and very famous Afternoon Teas. We also welcome groups, parties & coaches of any size, which we can comfortably accommodate in our newly refurbished Terrace Café. Our outdoor terrace with views over the garden centre & surrounding fells is perfect for afternoon tea & can be accessed using the lift.

Historical Roots
Founded over 200 years ago, Hayes Garden Earth began as a small nursery dedicated to cultivating and selling plants. In 1921, the business relocated to its current site on Lake Road in Ambleside, operating under the name “Lake District Nurseries.” The 1960s marked a significant transformation as the nursery embraced the garden centre model, expanding its offerings to include a diverse array of gardening and lifestyle products. This evolution culminated in the establishment of the renowned “Crystal Palace” in 1987, a stunning architectural feature that continues to captivate visitors.
