Coral Pukei-Pukei is a Large Monster in Monster Hunter World (MHW). プケプケ亜種 (??) in Japanese. It is a subspecies of Pukei-Pukei. Renowned for its unique ability to store water within its body through the consumption of plant life, this bird wyvern remains non-hostile unless provoked. Its arsenal includes a potent water-expelling stream from both its mouth and tail, showcasing its defensive prowess.

 

A bird wyvern that stockpiles water inside its body, fortified by the plant life it consumes. When threatened it can expel a powerful stream from its mouth or tail.

The Pukei-Pukei is the first difficult hunt in Monster Hunter: World. You and your party are tasked with bringing down the dangerous monster in the assigned questUrgent: Pukei-Pukei Hunt. The monster may contain a silly name and a goofy look, but don’t grant that fool you. The Pukei-Pukei is deadly and will transport you down fast if you aren’t careful.

In this guide, we’ll teach you how to chase and take down the Pukei-Pukei before it poisons you to death.

When you’ll fight the Pukei-Pukei

The Pukei-Pukei hunt will be your third large monster hunt in the game. Shortly after killing the Kulu-Ya-Ku, you’ll be sent on the mission Urgent: Pukei-Pukei Hunt. This Assignment will provide you a timer of 50 minutes as well as a 2,520 zenny reward. The Pukei-Pukei is native to the Ancient Forest, but it may just show up other places later in the game.

    The Poison Bewitching Bird Pukei-Pukei (プケプケ, pukepuke) is a Bird Wyvern introduced in Monster Hunter: World.

    Pukei-Pukei is found in the Ancient Forest and the Wildspire Waste. They can also be found in the Forest and the Desert regions of the Guiding Lands.

    Pukei-Pukei charge using their long, extendable tongue and by spitting poison from their mouth. Periodically, Pukei-Pukei will head to specific plants on the map and eating from them, causing their chin to inflate after their first and their tail to after the second. This gives them access to new poison attacks from their head and the ability to spray poison from their tail, though it will deflate aft
