Rathian, the Queen of the Land, is a medium-sized accurate flying wyvern, sharing a visual resemblance with her male counterpart, Rathalos. As a terrestrial predator, she employs a venomous tail and robust legs to overpower her prey. Rathian's hide features a subdued, muted green hue, in stark contrast to Rathalos's deep red. A unique trait is the moss-like fur on her upper back and wingtips, absent in Rathalos.
Although her clubbed tail lacks bony spikes, it compensates with sharp and highly poisonous needles, capable of inflicting toxic, blunt-force wounds even if severed. In Monster Hunter: World, the Rathian is often referred to as the “Queen of the Land” or simply “Queen.” She is also the protector of the Wyvern eggs. Be careful before venturing into the dragon’s nest.
