Hi,

So with the new customisation options for humans, what’s the opinion on more ethnic sounding names? Like African, Middle Eastern, Asian, etc.

Don’t witness why not. The Wastewanders apply names like Navid, Zarah and Samara. So, really, this has always been canon anyway.

African (Yoruba): Zainab, Moyo, Ayobami, Fikayo, Azerny, Folarin, Aderemi. Mojisoula. Leonard, Moriam. Eniola, Adeola, Awonusi, Mustapha, Opeyemi, Desola.
Many nigerian names from my country can be used in rp and I would love to see more people out there named appreciate this in rp!

this has always been available to humans, btw

going as far back as vanilla there have been humans with chinese names

and nothing ever said you couldn’t, because humans in Warcraft were never strictly european

so the opinion is: Employ the names you want to. Nothing’s limited.

I came up with a list of about 50 names for my warlock… all of them taken. I started armorying them and most of them where taken by level 10-50 characters with almost no achievements. So frustrating. A lot of them were also made this xpac too so they won’t be freed.

Use my strategy for names, it almost never fails getting me one I like.

Take the name or word you want to apply, like wrath and imperial.

Toss that into Google translate with another language, like Italian.

It pops out with the Italian word for wrath and you now possess a name much less likely to be taken: Ira Imperiale

Now I have the name I wanted, and can sound intelligent because its in a distinct language. Bam easy names.

As far as I can narrate, sometimes it’s english (not particularly Victorian) othertimes it’s general fantasy. So a fair mix of both, I would say.

Varian. Anduin. Tiffin. Arthas. Yea, I reflect it’s safe to say Gilneas is the only one with the old victorian naming scheme. The rest seem to be pretty fantasy focused.
