Abu dhabi temple one world religion

There is something very strange about the One World Religion Headquarters which has now been expose since March of last year.

The headquarters, built on an island in the middle eastern capital of Abu Dhabi, is called The Abrahamic Family House and was built in collaboration between Pope Francis and Sunni Muslim leader, Sheikh Ahmen al-Tayeb, after they both signed a global peace covenant called the Document of Human Fraternity for Society Peace.

The stated purpose of the Abrahamic Family House is to bring understanding and tolerance among the faiths, in spite of the fact that Abu Dhabi is a part of the UAE where it is illegal for Christians to proselytize and conversion from Islam is prohibited. The Pope represents Roman Catholicism where Christians are free to convert to Islam, but citizens of Abu Dhabi are not free to choose Christ.

The One World Religion Headquarters has three buildings; one building each characterizing the mosque, church, and synagogue. However, the church is not permitted to have a cross on the building as a method of identifying it, as it is illegal to present a Christian cross on a building in the UAE.

Perhaps the strangest thing is that no one is allowed to v

The Abrahamic Family Property, which encloses a synagogue, a church and a mosque in a single complex, and which is scheduled to be inaugurated in 2022, is 20 percent complete, the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity (HCHF) said in a statement on Tuesday.  The  Committee, which is also supervising the project , said it is inspired by the 2019 Document on Human Fraternity.  Designed on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the proposal is closely followed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayeb of al-Azhar, who endorsed the design, the HCHF said.

The  Abrahamic Family House derives its name from the Vintage Testament biblical figure, Abraham, who is recognized and greatly revered by Jews, Christians and Muslims.

Abrahamic Family House Brings 3 Religions Together in Abu Dhabi

The United Arab Emirates has been pioneering interfaith work in the Arab world for almost a decade, and it has been my privilege to have been involved over the years in the different initiatives, in particular the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace and, more recently, the activities of the UAE Ministry of Tolerance.

However, the most dramatic of these initiatives reached an historic milestone last week with the launch of the Abrahamic Family House, an exquisitely attractive complex of three separate religious buildings – a mosque, a church and a synagogue, linked by a common space, including areas for conferences and exhibitions as well as the administration of the center.

The vision for this complex came from the historic visit of Pope Francis to the Emirates and the signing in 2019 of a Declaration of Human Fraternity between the Pope and Sheikh Ahmed Al Tayeb, the grand imam of al-Azhar, the fountainhead of Sunni Muslim learning in the world. Above all, this vision was envisaged and facilitated by UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, as the embodiment of the world abu dhabi temple one world religion

Returning to Abu Dhabi

Returning to Abu Dhabi, I had the opportunity to visit the remarkable Abrahamic Family House, a testament to the city’s visionary development since my first visit in the early 2000s. Back then, the grand Sheikh Zayed Mosque was the primary attraction amidst a landscape dominated by construction sites and the sweltering desert heat. Today, Abu Dhabi is a burgeoning cultural hub, with Yas Island offering high-octane entertainment and Saadiyat Island showcasing world-class art and architecture, including the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the upcoming Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.

The Abrahamic Family House, designed by the acclaimed British-Ghanaian architect Sir David Adjaye, epitomizes this cultural renaissance. Opened in March 2023, it houses a mosque, a church, and a synagogue, each distinct yet unified by their white marble exteriors and identical forms. This powerful symbol of interfaith harmony is especially poignant in our current global climate.

ABOUT THE ABRAHAMIC FAMILY HOUSE

The Abrahamic Family House will be a beacon of joint understanding, harmonious coexistence, and calm among people of faith and goodwill. It consists of a mosque, church, synagogue, and educational center to be built on Saadiyat Island, the cultural heart of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Through its design, it captures the principles shared between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and serves as a powerful platform for inspiring and nurturing understanding and acceptance between people of goodwill. The vision for the Abrahamic Family Residence originated after the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity by Pope Francis and Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb in February 2019. This landmark will be a place for learning, dialogue, and worship – open to all and a true reflection of the UAE’s belief in tolerance and hospitality. Within each of the houses of worship, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about religious services, listen to holy scripture, and experience sacred rituals. A fourth space—not affiliated with any specific religion—will be an educational center where all people can enter together as a sin
