Bible verse of the world hates you
John 15:18-21 NRSVue
Some thoughts on this scripture
Reflection
This chat about hatred is distasteful stuff, Lord, politically incorrect. But I have to admit that it rings true. It happens that good Christians are slandered and hated, for whatever reason. Then I need to remember how you were hated and kept your peace, and did not let your heart flame up in resentment.
Reflection
Jesus wants our faith and our presence with him. The coming of the Trinity among us arises from the desire of God to invite us into belonging with them, and to comprehend the mystery of God from the inside. We can state ‘yes' or ‘no' to that invitation. Our time of prayer is one way of saying ‘yes', and of opening ourselves to the divine energy in the world and inside each of us.
Reflection
Not everyone accepts Jesus, which was his experience from the start. Rivalry to him took him to death, and love took him from death to resurrection. Persecution and similar opposition is the experience of many of his followers. Goodness sometimes offends people; evil can seem for a while to be stronger than love, but the message of Jesus is that love conquers all.

In the Providence of God, we come now to John 15:17-25 where we will inspect the issue of why the world hates Christians. I contain experienced this in a drastic way over the last several weeks and so it is fitting that the Spirit of God would bring us to this text this morning and what a joy it is to be able to reach together and fellowship and worship and humble ourselves before the word of the living God.

I’d ask you to turn to John 15. Our text for the morning will bring us through John 15 and into chapter 16, verse 4. We’re in the series called friends of Jesus in the world. Please follow along as I read John 15, verse 18, through chapter 16, verse 4. Jesus, speaking to his disciples:
If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: “A servant is not greater than his master.” If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. But the word that is written in their
