Moving from the dry desert to the bottom of the sea, Mario is in for quite a change in scenery. You'll own to imitate an amphibian to survive your aquatic adventure. It can't get any wetter than this!
You'll earn a second Hammer item from a Hammer Bros. and you may wish to use it on the rock to the right of World 3-5. Doing so will give you access to a canoe that you can row around the world. Two docks let you visit remote islands that contain Toad Houses, which offer free items for your inventory, as well as two chances at bonus lives.

Exploring the bottom of the sea can be dangerous. Take a deep breath—you'll need it. Ocean Side is one tough planet. The critters in the sea are mean, lean and hungry! Since water is the central element in this world, the Frog Suit or Firepower is the recommended choice of gear.
- 1: Immediately after you enter the stage, sink down to achieve a hidden nook with a ? Block holding a power-up. You should always collect force ups because they're worth 1000 points.

Tile Description This is one example of a representative stage tile. The number on the tile indicates which stage you are about to go in, and the number can be as high as 10 in some worlds. While you're often not required to complete every stage in a world, it's not a bad idea to at least explore each of them and get an plan of what they contain. You cannot pass a stage tile until it has been completed. A completed tile on the map is signified by a large letter, representing the player who completed it. If player 1 completed a tile, it is replaced by a big red "M" for Mario. On the other hand, if player 2 completes the tile, it is replaced by a massive green "L" for Luigi. Fortresses are a special kind of stage. In addition to exploring an indoor space, you may typically encounter enemies which are unique to fortresses. These stages always end in a confrontation with the mini-boss known as Boom-Boom. Each fortress is connected with a lock somewhere on the map. Nature 3: Water Land - Ocean Side
3-1: The Frog Suit entity put to the test. Flatten any cardinal direction to float in that direction then pressurize A to swim faster.
As Frog Mario, you can swim against the currents coming out of some pipes. This is a good way to find covert areas in some levels.
Meet Blooper/Gesso. It will try to splash into Mario and some of them have varied attacks.
Meet Lava Lotus/Switchuka. It waits on the surface floor and spits a few balls of lava that rain down. Avoid those lava balls at all cost.
Meet Blooper Nanny/Kozure Gesso. Anyone who gets too close and the nanny sends the kids after you.

3-2: You want to stay at the top of the moisture as much as possible but I want to demonstrate something real quick.

Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) Maps & Worlds
World 1 - Grass Land
The first world of Super Mario Bros. 3 features six levels, one set of Hammer Bros, two Toad houses and one Fortress. The doom ship which has taken over this land belongs to Larry Koopa. This land belongs to the Mushroom Kingdom. In the original SMB3 the King was turned into a dog, but in the re-release in Super Mario Allstars the King was instead turned into a Cobrat.
World 2 - Desert Hill
The second world also known in the re-release as Desert Land contains five levels, two sets of Boomerang Bros, a Fortress, three Toad houses, two special levels which were based in a Pyramid and a quicksand desert. There is also a special Fire Bro's level which can be unlocked by using a hammer on the rock at the upper right of the screen, beating the Fire Bros will then get you a warp whistle. There are certain enemies which are pretty much exclusive to this land to be seen here - such as the Angry sun and Fire snakes. Morton Koopa Jr is the Koopa Kid who has taken over this land, and is ultimately the boss of Desert Hill.
